Skip Records celebrates with the Concert: 20 years Skip Records. Skip Records celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special concert – the Concert: 20 years Skip Records. Musical well-wishers from the two decades of the label’s existence present themselves solo, in different Ensembles and with surprising Line-Ups. Look forward to Tingvall Trio, Omar Sosa, Emil Brandqvist Trio, Martin Tingvall solo, Omar Rodriguez Calvo, Caro Josée, Sandro Roy, Nina Attal, Joo Kraus, Tony Lakatos, Vladyslav Sendecki & Jürgen Spiegel, Tuomas A. Turunen solo, Gustavo Ovalles, Peter Weniger, Boris Netsvetaev, Giovanni Weiss, Ingolf Burkhardt and other guests. On the Album “Two in the Mirror” two extremely distinguished jazz musicians, whose success radiates far beyond the borders of Germany, have come together in an exciting and unpredictable dialogue. Vladyslav Sendecki is considered one of the most powerful and creative pianists of the European jazz scene, the Süddeutsche Zeitung praised him as “a master of Emotion who creates poignant musical virtuosity.”And the New York Village Voice, made him one of the five most important current jazz pianists in the world, Al Jarreau agreed: “Vladyslav Sendecki is highly ranked among the great pianists of the last 100 years, with Herbie, Chick and Duke and Jarrett.”Jürgen Spiegel, for his part, has been a driving rhythmic force and a sensitive sound painter for more than fifteen years in the world-renowned Tingvall Trio, which, along with Till Brönner, is now regarded as the “flagship” of German jazz music in an international context. In addition, he has also made a name for himself in recent years as a producer for various music and video projects. Now the two Hamburg – based musicians have met in the Studio in an unusual Piano / percussion constellation for a Duo project. Poetry meets dynamics, virtuosity meets fine dialogue, freedom meets exchange of emotions.

Both musicians are compositionally involved in the dialogue and already with the opener “Meanwhile in Heaven” composed by Spiegel, the drummer surprises with an elegiac moment of the meeting before “Wroong” puts the dynamic dialogue of the duo at the center. In” a new Day”, a composition by Vladyslav Sendecki that demonstrates the pianist’s poetry and virtuosity in equal measure, it becomes clear how organically the two musicians intertwine almost like wheels and take the listener into a musical flow that always offers surprising twists and turns. The title track “Two in the Mirror” is pure energy and indicates how the live concerts will also be carried by musicality, spontaneity and joy of playing. An intense dialogue that is difficult to escape and which, as a matter of course, dissolves the boundaries between Jazz, classical and World Music.
The Duo will play a variety of Club and festival appearances throughout the year
