Rune Alvers’ CD Le nouveau Grieg is currently being digitally relaunched on the LAWO Classics label. The CD was recorded on Edvard Grieg’s own grand piano at Troldhaugen Bergen in 2007. The term Le nouveau Grieg – The new Grieg, refers to the composer’s Slåtter op. 72, which is included in its entirety on the CD along with Lyriske stykker op. 71. However, tonight’s concert presents a broader selection of Edvard Grieg’s production with verbal intros of a historical and musical nature.Rune Alver has a long history as a performer of Edvard Grieg’s music at the Edvard Grieg Museum Troldhaugen. He has played numerous concerts in Norway, Europe, China, Russia and South Africa. In 2013 he made his debut with a solo concert in Carnegie Hall, New York, followed by a US tour.

In addition to two CDs of music by Edvard Grieg, Rune Alver has recorded several critically acclaimed CDs, including the complete piano productions of David Monrad Johansen (1888-1974), Johannes Rivertz (1902-1988) and Signe Lund (1868-1950). Also music by Robert Schumann, Frédéric Chopin, Catharinus Elling and Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen.
