A lot has happened with Movements since their formation in 2015 – the name says it all, and thus the post-hardcore quartet takes their sound to expansive and sometimes unexpected places on their third album “Ruckus!”.Produced by Will Yip (Circa Survive, Code Orange), the album combines post-hardcore and punk influences with a healthy dose of pop songwriting to create an album that defies the conventions of the scene and creates something completely unique. To accomplish this, the band – consisting of vocalist Patrick Miranda, guitarist Ira George, drummer Spencer York and bassist Austin Cressey – went to Yip’s Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, three times to write and record the songs that would eventually become “Ruckus!” “I really don’t think there could have been a tighter process, and I don’t think we’ve ever written music as good as what we put together for this record,” Miranda explains.

From the distorted grind of “Lead Pipe” to the syncopated groove of “Killing Time” to the pop sheen of “Tightrope,” “Ruckus!” sees the band incorporating very different influences like the Gorillaz and the Strokes into their sound to challenge people’s preconceptions about their sound.
