Gold For The Hungry Souls’ is the debut album from Kinzoogianna AKA Anna Stubbs, the multi-talented singer-songwriter and keyboard player from the ground breaking Nu Jazz and Broken Beat band Brotherly.

An epic vocal and keys driven collection of quirky, sophisticated yet memorable Nu Jazz Soul grooves, Stubbs is showcasing all her talents as a vocalist, writer, keys player, drum programmer, recording engineer and producer.

Released on Brotherly Music on August 5th 2022.The album blends stories from her adventurous and turbulent California/Essex upbringing, her London life as a musician, and her relationships, with her reflective time during the Covid Pandemiclends stories from her adventurous and turbulent California/Essex upbringing, her London life as a musician, and her relationships, with her reflective time during the Covid Pandemic.

The songs were written while transcribing and improvising over songs she loves by artists including Rotary Connection, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Steely Dan, McCoy Tyner, Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder and Wayne Shorter. Having to record at home, in isolation, she threw herself into the process, using her trusty Nord, an SM7 mic, a UA 6176 Pre-amp, Logic Pro X software, YouTube tutorial videos and lots of red wine.

She collaborated with Rob Mullarkey (other half of Brotherly, Jacob Collier bassist, and the album’s mixing engineer) and Richard Spaven (Jordan Rakei, Jose James, Ty) for this album, their virtuosity and reputation as the best drum and bass crew in London (possibly the world!) perfectly match her album’s odd-time signatures, unexpected harmony and deeply personal subject matter.lends stories from her adventurous and turbulent California/Essex upbringing, her London life as a musician, and her relationships, with her reflective time during the Covid Pandemic.
