Titanic, romantic, impassioned – Tchaikovsky’s Grande Sonate is like an Russian epic novel full of landscapes and battles. The composer’s more intimate cycle, The Seasons, is like a musical diary – depicting the frailty of human existence. These two works, performed here by Jonas Vitaud, are respectively imposing and delicate, and demonstrate Tchaikovsky’s love of the piano.

Renowned for his poetic streak, his precise playing and his expression power, Jonas Vitaud studied with Brigitte Engerer. He was awarded four prizes at the Paris National Conservatory (piano, chamber music, harmony and piano accompaniment) and several international prizes as a soloist and in chamber music.
