This is the second pre-release EP derived from UNEXPECTED SHADOWS, a celebration in words and music of powerful, exceptional women, with songs composed by Jake Heggie, and performed by mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton, with the composer at the piano. The Work at Hand sets poetry by the late Laura Morefield, in which she describes the difficult and deeply human experience of knowing it is time to say goodbye and let go: resenting, fighting, struggling to find grace and peace.
