Blackie and the Rodeo Kings have announced their 11th studio album, O Glory, is due to arrive on July 8 through Warner Music. The band are previewing the Colin Linden-produced effort — billed as their most “spiritual and political” musical offering to date — with lead single “O Glory Lost Those Blues Again,” which arrives alongside a lyric video to annotate Tom Wilson and Linden’s shared vocals.Stephen Fearing said of recording the album remotely during the pandemic:Like a lot of musicians, after the initial shock of the pandemic lockdown, the impetus became finding ways to connect with the world. Technology has come so far in the last few years, and it has made remote recording possible. I pounced on it. Colin gave me a lot of advice and took charge musically. It was then a matter of coming up with songs and getting them to each other. In addition to their new music, the band have also mapped out a few dates on their 2022 Canadian tour, with stops lined up in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and BC throughout October, November and December.
