Twink’s legendary solo debut LP THINK PINK is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year! The original Stereo mix has been lovingly remastered by M. Geddes Gengras (who has worked with Akron/Family, Sun Araw, The Congos, Real Estate etc).”If you want to walk on the wild side of psychedelia, look no further than the solo debut from former Pretty Things/future Pink Fairies drummer John Adler, aka Twink. Think Pink isn’t so much a collection of songs as it is an experience, surrounding folky acid trips like “10,000 Words in a Cardboard Box” and “Suicide” with phase-shifted noise collages like “Mexican Grass War,” instrumental freak outs like “Dawn of Magic,” and the lava-lamp-lit sonic orgy “Fluid.” Sometimes it feels like proto-space rock, sometimes like audio from an Antonioni film, sometimes like nothing you’ve heard before—even almost 50 years after its release.” -Bandcamp, 2018

“THINK PINK is one of the great records of the original psychedelic era. It uses all those classic psychedelic effects, a lot of phase-shifting and panning, but to great effect. It sucks you in and messes with your head. It’s well-produced, but it’s weird… Twink was a genuine freak, he was living the radical lifestyle to the full.” -Ripley Johnson, Moon Duo

“A prime mover on the Ladbroke Grove scene in west London, Twink (born John Alder) played with the Pretty Things, Syd Barrett and Hawkwind. And just before forming Pink Fairies, he recorded this mighty mind-howl of frazzled guitars, pounding drums, mystical proclamations and ecstatic hollering.” -Guardian, 2017

“Twink’s very presence in the late 1960s to the 1970s is a badge of honour for pre-punk rock that lived on the outskirts of one’s sensibility… THINK PINK is an album of mayhem and I suspect an exotic amount of drugs that went into the kitchen that made this aural meal. Twink is a drummer who eventually joined The Pink Fairies and The Pretty Things. The other musicians that make a creative mark on this album are Paul Rudolph, who became a member of The Pink Fairies as well as ending up backing up Eno on his first solo album and live tour. The other musician is Steve Took, who was once a member of Marc Bolan’s Tyrannosaurus Rex (T Rex). Together with Twink’s girlfriend ‘Silver’ (with producer Mick Farren & other “heavy friends”.. -ed.), they made this anarchy in the studio into an interesting album… I can’t imagine a serious record collector not having this album in their collection.” -Tosh Berman
