The second album by the popular piano trio “Tsubaki Trio”. Their debut album “Mendelssohn & Brahms: Piano Trio No. 1” became a bestseller and was selected as “Record Geijutsu Magazine’s Special Selection” for its lustrous and fragrant cantabile that touched the heartstrings of listeners. This album is a complete turnaround, featuring the masterpieces of Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich, who represent Russian music, and their profound and emotional ensembles are a stunning attraction. The DSD 11.2MHz ultra-high-resolution recording of this performance is a real treat for the ears, and the audience will be able to experience the true emotion of the performance as it unfolds before their very eyes. About the Tsubaki Trio – The birth of a dignified piano trio and its fulfillment – The birth of the “Tsubaki Trio” (pianist Takako Takahashi, violinist Eriko Iso, and cellist Hitomi Niikura), an all-female piano trio bearing the name of a flower, was in 2008. Hitomi Niikura was suddenly asked to substitute for Takako Takahashi and Eriko Iso at a piano trio concert in Toyohashi, where they had been scheduled to perform.Iso and Takahashi had already performed together many times as professionals, and Niikura was well known as a gifted student, but this was the first time the three of them performed together. It was the first time the three of us had ever performed together, and it was wonderful. The three hit it off so well that they promised to continue their activities as a piano trio. In 2019, they named themselves the Tsubaki Trio, taking a cue from their 2017 concert at Koda Town Hall’s Tsubaki Hall.
