With six albums released, over 50 sold-out shows at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre and countless concerts in every corner of Ireland and further afield in Europe and the USA, the Dublin lads of The Coronas have achieved just about everything that can be achieved as a musician and band in their home country over the past 15 years. Especially the sold-out shows around the turn of the year in the Olympia Theatre in Dublin are the annual highlight of the band. Here they have been celebrating the end of the year since December 2008 and over time have become a permanent fixture with increasingly sold-out shows. Eventually this resulted in no less than five sold out shows for this year in December. With over 50 shows, The Coronas thus united over 80,000 fans, which is just under 15% of Dublin’s population. That alone shows how big the band is in their home country. Over the past ten months, The Coronas have continued to release songs with Write Your Our Own Soundtrack, Strive and Don’t You Say You’re in Love, working towards their seventh studio album, Time Stopped.
