Cappella Records proudly announces the release of Frank La Rocca’s Mass of the Americas (Misa de las Américas), performed by the Choir and Orchestra of Benedict XVI under the direction of internationally renowned conductor Richard Sparks

The work expands the Missa solemnis genre: a sublime setting of a traditional Latin Mass for choir and orchestra. A rich modern rendering with quiet Gregorian chants, folk melodies from 18th-century regions of Mexico, and florid eulogies in Nahuatl, the language Our Lady of Guadalupe spoke to San Juan Diego in 1531: a masterpiece of liturgical art.

The debut recording of the Benedict XVI Choir is sung by some of America’s finest singers, many of whom have been nominated for a GRAMMY®. Sung in Latin, Spanish and Nahuatl. The booklet includes all translations.
