Chain Of Days“ is Silje Nergaard newest album featuring eleven diverse overwritings put together in an album with the melody in focus.
Silje Nergaard played folk, pop, country, jazz and blues in the new album Chain of Days, but all the music reflected the recognizable Silje Nergaard’s style.
It is surprisingly enough that Silje Nergaard felt completely free for the first time as a singer of the disc in spite of the fact that Chain of Days was her fifteenth album. Silje Nergaard invited a band to record music together with her instead of musicians recording separately behind a glass window in the studio.Dear All, My new album is ready, released and I am excited! The songs are now all yours! I can’t believe that this is my 15th album … time passes so quickly. But, I’m just as excited as if ‘Chain of Days’ was my first release.
Each song has their own unique personality and little story, and I can now share them with you. I’ve also chosen to record a cover song, my version of an A-ha song.
The album was recorded here in Oslo with a group of wonderful musicians, all of whom I’ve known for many years. My two steady guitarists Hallgrim and Håvar are with me and in addition, I have brought my old friends in on bass and drums, trumpet and even a male choir….. yes, many beautiful musical colours. Still, the arrangements contain air and space – “Less is more” remains my musical mantra.
The album was released worldwide on March 16th. We will be touring in Germany in April, festivals in the summer and more touring in the Fall and Winter 2015. We will also be touring in the Far East.
We will be performing at the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo on the 31st of May! This is my first time playing at this spectacular venue and it promises to be a really special night! So, if you ever thought about visiting Norway, this may be the right time – Norway in May is truly beautiful!
