Larkin Poe, the Grammy nominated duo, Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell, have revealed a new EP of stripped down versions of four fan favorites. “Bad Spell (Acoustic)” is the first song to be release from An Acoustic Companion, which arrives to all US and UK DSPs and streaming services via their own Tricks-Woo Records on Friday, October 5th.Larkin Poe has become an essential force in shaping Southern Rock n’ Roll, infusing a new identity into the genre with a modern flair and feminine strength. Originally a roots-rock song from their Blood Harmony album with gritty electrified intensity, “Bad Spell” is one of several tunes on the album with equal parts sensitivity and ferocity and indelible storytelling.

“In our world, almost all of our songs start out ‘acoustic,’” says Rebeccca, “with quiet beginnings at the kitchen table on an acoustic guitar. In recording ‘An Acoustic Companion’ we really enjoyed stripping a handful of our songs back down to their roots and we hope folks will enjoy getting an earful of these songs as they originally came into being.

Acoustic guitar and dobro opens Larkin Poe’s new single “Bad Spell,” and what a song it is. With such rich tone and soulfulness, Rebecca’s voice is gorgeous, as is the the way these two have approached the song which appeared on their album Blood Harmony.
