One of South Africa’s leading concert guitarists, James Grace, a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, became the first Classical guitarist in the history of the college to receive the Tagore Gold Medal. Grace founded his independent record label, Stringwise Records, in 2005 and has set up the Stringwise Young Artists Fund, which aims to provide a platform for young artists to produce their own albums and study further overseas. His performance perfectly exemplified not just the versatility of the acoustic guitar but the depth of emotion that can be reached when passion is coupled with true mastery.
