It turns out that at that time, the double bassist was confined to his home, somewhere in the countryside in the Paris region, very close to his saxophonist son Sébastien Texier, who has also been a member of his various formations for about 25 years now. Both decided to “take advantage” of the confinement to work together, without necessarily thinking of a recording from the outset.
