The inspiration for this album was the way in which the double bass has entered Arabic music in the 1940’s and 50’s, the days of great artists like Umm Kulthum and Abdel Wahab – a western instrument that found another side in it, and an eastern orchestra that found its fulcrum, on the low frequencies that it brought into it for the first time. A cultural encounter where there is no renouncing the unique elements of Each of the parties, but finding a common language that is even more convincing than it was before the meeting.
In the same way, this album utilizes both cultures – the Arab maqam is treated with respect and love, the format of the traditional Arab composition is kept almost unchanged, but nevertheless, the rhythm element, together with the reference to the musical form, brings the influences from the world of jazz and the West.

The ensemble consists of renowned masters alongside young lions, all profound musicians with expression and knowledge of their musical style and tradition.
