The Dreamer features The Gabor Szalay Trio performing six Jazz Classics. Including Alone Together by Arthur Schwartz and Howard Dietz, There Will Never Be Another You by Harry Warren and Mack Gordon, Body And Soul by Johnny Green, Edward Herman, Robert Sour and Frank Eyton, Waltz New by Jim Hall, St. Thomas by Sonny Rollins and In Walked Bud by Thelonious Monk. The title track – The Dreamer – was written by Gabor Szalay.”We were asked to record this album with a line-up of two guitars and a double bass by Róbert Zoltán Hunka of Hunnia Records. He had heard this material earlier when I played together in a trio with the late great guitar maestro, Gyula Babos and excellent bass player, Viktor Hárs.

“We tried to recreate the spirit of the trio by using similar material. In place of the late Gyula Babos, my friend, the excellent István Gyárfás plays the other guitar. The material is made up of well- known standards with the exception of “The Dreamer” which was composed by myself earlier, but on the album, it’s dedicated to Gyula in memoriam. We only recorded just one take of each song and made absolutely no corrections afterwards in order to give it a live feel.”
