Born in Belarus in 1990, Andrey Ivanov started to play the piano at the age of eight and gave his first public appearance with an orchestra when he was nine years old. From 2006 to 2011 he studied at the Central School of Music at the Belarussian State Academy of Music. In 2011 he was accepted into the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where he graduated in 2016 with the highest honours, and from 2016 to 2019 he studied at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. During his studies Ivanov won numerous international awards including First Prize at the International Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Belgrade, Fourth Prize at the Iturbi València International Piano Competition and Third Prize at the Birmingham International Piano Competition (formerly the Brant International Piano Competition).Concert highlights include recitals at major venues across the world, including in Russia, Belarus, Poland, the UK, Italy, Spain, Serbia and China. In March 2018 Ivanov participated in a prestigious concert, playing Chopin’s Concerto No. 2 with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, which was broadcast by BBC Radio 3.
