Anamorphosis is the art of distorting representation (and perception) through a mirror or changing perspective. Inspired and influenced by installation artists such as Shiego Fukuda & Jean Max Albert, J. Moritz composed music that shifts and veils harmonic and rhythmic lines & levels. The melody is a recurring element for J. Moritz, but its form is constantly alienated.All six musicians improvise musically intuitively in open form parts and with the deepest playful trust for each other. The sound of various, colorful woodwind instruments (Sebastian Wehle and Johannes Moritz) meets the incomparable sound of Antonia Hausmann, who has been one of the most sought-after soloists on her instrument for several years. Together with Robert Lucaciu and Philipp Scholz, Volker Heuken forms an extraordinary rhythm group that steers J. Moritz’s new compositions with dedication, precession and, above all, intensity in the metric paths.
